Chances are, you’re here because you want to eat a little healthier. Perhaps you’ve tried a ton of different diets and haven’t been successful at making healthy habits stick. Or maybe you want to start working out but aren’t sure where to start. The Balanced Berry is all about helping you lead a healthier life in an achievable, manageable way so healthy habits become second nature.
You can expect to find tasty recipes made with whole foods perfect for those with active lifestyles or anyone looking to eat a little healthier. I try to share foods that fit an assortment of dietary needs, but I don’t label my own personal diet in any way – you can read more about my foodie philosophy here.

I’m Les, and I’m here to help you feel a little more balanced in your everyday life. I started The Balanced Berry in 2014 while experiencing a major quarter-life crisis. Unfulfilled in my work-home routine, I started putting more energy toward the aspects of life that left me feeling more at ease and centered. The Balanced Berry is where I share pieces of that lifestyle.
In addition to my love for healthy eats, I am a firm believer that movement through exercise is essential to having a healthy, happy life. I didn’t realize how much I enjoyed fitness until my early 20’s. Upon graduating college in 2011 and diving head first into “the real world” I soon found that the happiest part of my day was during my gym sessions every morning before work. Each day I felt myself becoming stronger and more confident in a way I had never felt before. So in 2012 I became a personal trainer and fitness instructor to help others feel the same.
I’m also a sucker for flowers, life-hacks, beautiful design and all things DIY. Sometimes I get a little too sassy, and use song lyrics in everyday conversation (er..and blog posts…). Let’s be friends!
But actually. I would love to stay in touch! You can sign up for my newsletter and get awesome recipes, workout tips and more straight to your inbox. You can also find me on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Bloglovin’ or email. I would love to hear from you!
